A Norwegian design student, Johan Ringdal, became known for always wearing his grandfather’s old galoshes. Fellow students noticed and thought it was strange, but also cool.
When he graduated, Johan decided he wanted to create a modern galosh - a reimagining of the functional shoe covers he had been wearing for the last few years. And so, in 2006 with galoshes in four different colors, SWIMS was born.
